Art represents a massive and ever-growing asset class estimated to be in a range of $1.7 Trillion, and possibly upwards of $2.7 Trillion. Equally massive is the number of ‘Art Owners’ in the world, a wide citizenry comprising of artists, families of artists or individuals who have acquired artworks and who may not be regarded as art collectors. The quantity of Art owned by this group dominates by far that of all art collections and museums worldwide.

The quandary of the Art Market
* A Restrictive System - The Art Market is the ‘window front’ to the Art World and stands as a broker establishment between Art Owners and the public. Comprised of Art merchants, individual or institutional art dealers, Art Galleries, Auction Houses, this broker system operates to the detriment of Art Owners. It not only controls and restricts market access, imposes narratives to shape public opinion to influence value and market outcomes. The current Art Market is not structured and equipped to properly reflect and accommodate the massive Art Asset class and the needs of Art Owners.
* Full of Misrepresentation - The Art World is also flooded with misrepresentations involving copies, replicas, forgeries, and misattributed artworks which have historically passed through the Art Market and found their way into major art collections and museums worldwide. The broker system, claiming expertise and legitimacy in Art has not only failed to curb this problem, but it has often served as its key conduit in transforming the problem into an industry of 'Art laundering'.
